we are gonna be friends forever

do you remember when we were younger and when we used to say friends forever a lot? and when we used to sign off with friends forever in autograph books and all that? do you remember this one special friend or group of friends whom you swore would be your best friend (s) forever and ever?

well i remember when friends used to matter. as we grow older, other people take more priority over your friends. your boyfriend/girlfriend, work friends/colleagues/people you need to socialize with to keep your job, your family whom you realize that you have been neglecting for half your life, new friends that are nice to be seen around with etc. it is all very purposeful. i remember just hanging around my girlfriend’s house after school/when i was supposed to be in school just because i wanted to.

i also remember dropping everything to listen to my friends’ latest tale of sorrow & woe. now, you kinda have to beg.

some people are just not worth it

i have come to realized, albeit very belatedly- that some people are just really really not worth it. going out of your way to be nice to them, either actively or passively by helping them etc. is pointless. i am not saying i expect you to do me any favors but at the very least you should say thank you. and not only look for me when you need something or another

srsly i have been very tolerant, nice and accomodating towards you already. don’t push it

just when you thought things just can’t get any worse

finding it harder and harder to do my readings.
